Presidents Report

The BSA is pleased to have received confirmation that the Bermuda Government, Department of Youth, Sport & Recreation has agreed to provide grant funding for youth sailors participating in a “Learn to Race” programme. Hence the royal clubs, SBC, BODA & the Endeavour programme will be advised that any youth sailors coming out of any of their (summer) programmes who would like to continue to sail and join one of the year-round programmes with a view to learning to race or to take their racing skills to the next level may apply for support using the standard funding application forms from the BSA website.


The Bermuda Sailing Association (BSA) is the National Governing Body for the sport of sailing within Bermuda. It is a Member National Authority (MNA) under the International Sailing Federation (ISAF). BSA is a registered charity in Bermuda. It works to administer and govern the sport; to provide access to the sport; and to support developing and elite sailors. The BSA membership is made up of the various clubs, classes, and associations that in turn engage with sailors, officials, coaches, and other interested individuals.

The objects of the Association shall be -

  • To promote and administer the sport of Sailing in all its branches in Bermuda;
  • To promote competition in Sailing internationally;
  • To take such steps to become a Member of ISAF and to affiliate with other National and International Associations as may be required;
  • To serve as the National body for the advancement of Sailing throughout Bermuda; and
  • To represent sailing interests to the Government of Bermuda.
